
Polyethylene Underground Ducting has become the most commonly used way of protecting pipes and cables laid underground. Twinwall ducting offers the advantages of a lightweight flexible product combined with high strength and durability. The external corrugated profile gives the product added strength and the smooth internal bore prevents cables from snagging.
Ducting is normally supplied in 6 metre lengths or 50 metre coils complete with a coupler. A draw cord is normally used to draw the cable through the ducting, some 50 metre coils are supplied complete with draw cord. Bends, couplers and ancillary products are also available.
Ducting provides protection to the cables or pipes from underground movement and alerts future contractors to the presence of a pipe or cables.
Ducting is colour coded to identify the cables within. The colour codes and sizes available are shown below:
